NASA Put the $250M-$500M Follow-On on Its Forecast
METTS IV Is Real. The Solicitation Is Slated for FY28.
There are two winners to every contract: the person who got awarded, and the person who got to “no” fastest. NASA just gave both groups the information they need. The current METTS III engineering-support contract at Marshall carries $231.7M in obligations and $294.9M in reported base-and-all-options potential value. NASA’s acquisition forecast now identifies METTS IV as a recompete worth an estimated $250M to $500M, with solicitation release planned for the first quarter of FY28 and award planned for the first quarter of FY29 [Sources: USASpending Award Detail, PIID 80MSFC23CA004; NASA Acquisition Forecast, Source ID 10041, checked July 2026].
